Glass orb with reflection of the landscape in it

The Guardian has had a few articles recently about Blogs in Academia. This article focusses on a D Phil student studying the First World war. One of the things that she’s said is useful, is the ability to search her information – in a way that’s much harder if you are keeping information in a note book! It has also allowed easy collaboration, both with other academics – and also non-academic readers, who may well have a different view point on some things.

As the article says, for many blogs will open up research fields to those who are interested, as well as helping some academics write in a more “user friendly” and less academic style.
